Ivanka Becomes Popular in Chinese Trademark Registration

Just one week after Trump was elected president, a sanitary napkins company registered Ivanka Trump as its trademark in China. In Chinese market, Trump is also a trademark which is registered by a toilet manufacturing company.

News from Trademark Office of The State Administration For Industry & Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, there are over 65 copies of trademark registration application of ‘Ivanka’ from enterprises or individual are submitted. The applications cover alcohol industry, wallpaper industry, makeup products, nutritional supplements, slimming service company etc.

Research data shows that: before November 2016, the Chinese netizens almost have no interests to Ivanka. But the media search index increases from 1655 to 40000 after Trump was elected president. Ivanka becomes popular in Chinese social media as a successful woman from all aspects of imagination.

The trademark of Trump Marks LCC owned by Ivanka Trump was registered in China in 2012. In last May, the company submitted another seven applications for jewelry, handbag, accessories under the Trump Marks LCC umbrella.
