Does Fast Fashion not work well in Japan

When we found the situation that Fast Fashion brands facing a downturn in China, they have to face the more serious situation in Japan. Many brands like H&M and Gap are busy closing their retail stores in Japan. Even Uniqlo the local brand, its store opening speed is to a halt.

Recently, H&M closed the stores of sub-brand Monki in Tokyo. It means that this brand Monki has closed all the stores in Japan. At the same time, GAP closed the 53 stores of its Old Navy in Japan.

Trapped in the Japanese domestic consumption market malaise, Uniqlo has to develop overseas market. According to reports, Uniqlo only opens two new stores in Japan but 161 new stores in other countries. The total number of overseas stores reaches 928 and has 82 more than Japanese market.

The Japanese government implements the Abe economic in recent years to improve the Japanese economy by implementation of monetary policy. When stimulating exports, the yen has led to service costs continue rapidly rising, the clothing retail industry is also under pressure.
